Kiara Jones

President & Grants

Kiara first started at the Toy Library in 2019 as a Non-Member Volunteer. She is now our President. She’s a tad passionate about learning through play, quality early childhood education and building stronger communities. Kiara divides her time between coordinating the Toy Library, Wandina Playgroup, supporting committees and being a stay at home mummy to three year old Zoey. Whilst navigating daily life with a DIDO husband, Kiara is busy securing money to improve our catalogue and facilities. Her favourite toys are Connetix and Indigenous storytelling kits. Zoey, however, loves the ice cream shop, birdie music player and new pod swing. Kiara can’t wait to seek more opportunities for our play community to learn and grow together.

Maree Perriam

Secretary

Maz is part of the membership team. She and her husband moved to Geraldton 9 years ago. Maz works part time as a radiographer and is mum to 4 year old Lily and 2 year old Alex. In her ‘spare’ time, Maz loves to cook and bake and is learning to sew.

She joined the Toy Library Committee to become more involved in her community with a bunch of beautiful, passionate and supportive group of women. Lily and Alex love it when Maz brings home the kick bricks (H19, H20)  from the Toy Library, so they can ‘help’ demolish the towers she creates with them. They also love the ‘talking microscope’ (c303 C303)  and fighting over whose turn it is with the drill (c103).

Amber Kenwright

Membership

Amber joined the Committee in mid 2022 and is part of our memberships team and also recently started helping out on promotions too. She works in Aged Care alongside her volunteering and is a busy mum of two to Lincoln (3) and Maisie (1). Amber and her little ones like to try out all the outdoor toys such as the Sand Mining set and Foam Play kits but is also particularly fond of the Fat Brain Toy sets. Amber joined the Committee as she likes supporting the community through volunteering, meeting new faces and making friends along the way. She loves that the Toy Library has helped her find a sense of belonging in the community.

Georgia McDonald

Promotions

Georgia joined the Toy Library in early 2023 after moving to Geraldton from Meekatharra. She is part of the Maintenance team, also dabbling in Promotions. Georgia and her family have been living and working in remote communities for the past 8 years and are looking forward to planting some roots in Geraldton. She is an Early Childhood teacher and mum to an energetic Callum (2.5 years) and cruisy Freya (8 months). In her spare time Georgia loves to cook, organise the playroom and rotate the toys or be outside with her family! She likes to follow the kids leads with their interests which for Callum is always construction and destruction; he and his dad are big fans of the Kick Bricks [H332]! Freya loves watching things that move and make sound so a favourite of hers are the Tolo Baby Rattles [D107].

Monique Kalinowski

Maintenance and Shift Coordinator

Monique has recently joined our Toy Library committee. She has joined the Maintenance Team and hopes to assist in keeping our resources in good repair.

After working many years in a busy management role she is currently enjoying the slower pace of motherhood to a beautiful little 20 month old girl, Amara.

A love of the outdoors will often find her family out on the ocean or camping by the fire.

As an early childcare educator it's hard to choose a favourite toy, but she tend to follow Amara’s lead with Montessori values from week to week, this week's beings rocks.

Monique is feeling very grateful to become a part of a community spirited club.

Toy Maintenance

Rachel joined the Toy Library in 2019. She is part of the Toy Maintenance team now. Being a Toy Library committee member allows her to meet great people, learn and share new ideas and her culture. When she is not busy with her work, studies and volunteering, she loves spending time with her toddler son, Leo, cooking and gardening.
